  • Each of the first nine digits is shifted by its distance from the end, weighted by a power of two and reduced mod nine; the tenth completes the total to a multiple of ten.
  • Every single mistyped digit is caught, and 96% of swapped neighbouring digits.
  • A correct checksum does not make the number a registered taxpayer's. Only the Revenue Administration can say that, and this page makes no request to anyone.
  • Nothing you type is sent anywhere or kept.
