What this site stores, what it does not, and how you can tell.
The tools run in your browser
Every tool here does its work on your own machine. Text you paste, files you drop and images you open are read by code running in your browser and are never uploaded — there is no address on this server that would receive them, and no request is made while a tool is working.
That covers the tools, not the visit. Asking for a page is still a request to a server, and what a server sees of a request is set out below.
What the server records
One row per page view, kept to see what is being asked for and what is going wrong — and to notice a crawler working its way through addresses that do not exist. It holds:
- The address you asked for, and the method.
- Not the query string. No tool puts what you typed there, so storing it would buy nothing.
- The status code, and how long the answer took.
- Your IP address, whole. This is personal data, and it is the reason this page exists.
- The user-agent string your browser sends, exactly as sent and not parsed.
- The languages your browser asked for, and the one actually served.
- The referring address, when your browser sends one.
Nothing else. No account, no identifier of any kind, and nothing you typed into a tool — that never reaches the server, so there is nothing of it to record.
Rows are kept until somebody deletes them. No automatic expiry is set at the moment.
You do not have to take that on trust — this tool shows you what the request that fetched it carried: What your browser reveals
Cookies
Two, and neither of them follows you anywhere:
- A language cookie, written only when you choose a language. Without it the site reads the languages your browser asks for and serves the closest one it speaks.
- A sign-in cookie for the administrator. It is scoped to the admin area, so no ordinary page ever receives it.
There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no third-party script on any page of this site.
What your browser keeps
Tools you star are kept in your browser's own storage, along with the occasional setting a tool remembers. None of it is sent anywhere and the site cannot read it; clearing your site data removes it, and it does not follow you to another browser.
Links to other sites
Several tools under Download & Play Links build an address for a service that is not this one. Building it happens here, in your browser, and nothing leaves the page while you do it.
Following that link is a visit to that service, on their terms, and the address you pasted travels inside the link. That is what the link is for — but it is worth knowing before you press it.
