File to Base64
Encode any file, with the type read from its bytes rather than its name.
Result
Good to know
- The type is read from the first bytes of the file, not from its extension. When the two disagree the tool shows both, and the extension is the one that is wrong.
- Base64 makes the payload about a third larger. A data URI adds the media type on top of that, which is why the two sizes differ.
- The limit is 10 MB. A result that long is more text than a browser paints comfortably, so a large one is shown from the top while Copy still takes all of it.
- The file never leaves your browser. It is read locally and nothing is uploaded.
